Undergraduate Admission Application Process
ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø’s undergraduate admission team is prepared to support UArts students through the application process for first-year or transfer admission. We offer several benefits to help make your transition as smooth as possible:
Support for Transfer Students
Returning UArts students intending to transfer to ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø
- Application Fee Waiver: Apply for free using the Greyhound Application Fee waiver.
- Flexible Admission Deadlines: Benefit from extended deadlines to apply for Fall 2024 term.
- Credit Evaluation: Get a personalized evaluation to transfer your credits from UArts. ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø will also award credit for AP/IB/dual enrollment courses, as well as credits from other previously attended institutions.
- Guaranteed Admission: Guaranteed admission for students with a GPA of 2.7 or above. Students with lower GPAs are also encouraged to apply for a holistic review.
- Merit Scholarships & Financial Aid: All transfer applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships. We will also strive to match the net price at UArts upon receiving your FAFSA.
- On-campus Housing: Residence Life & Housing can offer UArts students housing in one of our apartment communities, prioritizing placing UArts students together (space allowing). UArts students residing on campus at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø will move in a day early on August 29 between 9 a.m. and 12 noon and will check in at the Residence Life & Housing office, Seton Court 08B.

Incoming first-year UArts students intending to attend to ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø
- Application Fee Waiver: Apply for free using the Greyhound Application Fee waiver.
- Flexible Admission Deadlines: Benefit from flexible rolling admission deadlines to apply for the Fall 2024 term.
- Streamlined Application: Test optional policy and no portfolio required.
- Merit Scholarships & Financial Aid: All applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships. Accepted students will receive a minimum of $30,000 in institutional grants annually, amounting to at least $120,000 over four years. Upon receipt of the FAFSA application, we will do our best to match the expected net price at UArts.
- On-campus Housing: Residence Life & Housing can offer UArts students housing in one of our apartment communities, prioritizing placing UArts students together (space allowing). UArts students residing on campus at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø will move in a day early on August 29 between 9 a.m. and 12 noon and will check in at the Residence Life & Housing office, Seton Court 08B.
Transfer Students: How to Apply

- Submit Your Application: Complete and submit the . Our published deadline is July 15, but you can still apply after this date using a Greyhound Application Fee waiver. To use your Greyhound Fee Waiver, simply go to ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø’s Questions section on the My Colleges tab of the Transfer Common Application and select "Greyhound Fee Waiver."
- Provide Required Materials: Submit a Transfer Student Conduct Form from UArts (and from any other colleges attended previously), high school transcript, official UArts transcript, and transcripts from any other colleges attended previously.
- Submit Your FAFSA: Add ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø as a receiving school in your 2024-2025 FAFSA (Federal School Code No. 002078).

Program Highlights
ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø’s fully online M.Ed. in Learning Design & Technology is designed to help today’s teachers become educational technology leaders, focusing on ethical uses of technology, social justice, and instructional design. The program is suitable for teachers looking to expand their use of technology in the classroom or those aiming to become technology leaders at the district and national levels.
- Online Format: Our 36-credit M.Ed. in Learning Design & Technology program is offered fully online. The format combines self-paced learning with live class meetings using our video-based web platform. It is suitable for current and transitioning teachers or professionals.
- Completion Time: The program may be taken part-time (2-5 years), allowing flexibility for full-time work schedules. Most students complete the program in two years plus one semester.
- Specialization in Instructional Design: Students complete 27 required credits and then take 9 credits within the specialization of Instructional Design. This specialization equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to create effective and engaging learning experiences in both traditional and digital environments.
Course Alignment and Credit Transfer
At ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø, we are committed to recognizing your hard work and previous academic achievements, making your transition to our programs as smooth as possible by accepting as many transfer credits as we can. The required UArts courses align well with ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø’s M.Ed. in Learning Design & Technology, and elective courses from UArts will also be evaluated for overlap. Graduate course credit transfer is at the discretion of the individual programs and requires a grade of at least a B (3.0). Please note that only credits, not grades, are transferred.

Tuition and Financial Aid
The tuition for the 2024-25 academic year is $690 per credit for the M.Ed. program (subject to change each academic year). The program requires 36 credits. More information on financial aid options is available online.
Students who wish to apply for federal financial aid should add ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø University Maryland as a receiving school to the 2024-25 FAFSA application (Federal School Code No. 002078). To remain eligible for federal financial aid, students must take at least 6 credits in the fall and spring semesters or 3 credits in the summer term.
