ϰſ presents first Alumni Impact Award to John McNamara, ’06
ϰſ’s Sellinger School of Business presented the inaugural James B. Sellinger Family Alumni Impact Award to John McNamara, ’06, head of the New York chapter of ϰſ’s Alumni Association, past member of the University’s Board of Trustees and Alumni Association Advisory Board and managing director at Stifel Financial Corp.
The Alumni Impact Award honors individuals who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, and a commitment to service, carrying forward ϰſ’s Jesuit ideals and fostering positive change in their communities and beyond. The award was established by Jim and Francine Sellinger and presented at ϰſ’s Business Leader of the Year event in November.
“As a student at ϰſ, John was an active and involved student leader, and he has continued to be just as dedicated as a ϰſ graduate,” said Mary Ann Scully, MBA ’79, dean of ϰſ’s Sellinger School of Business. “Whenever ϰſ asks for help in any way, John is one of the first to raise his hand. He contributes to ϰſ in numerous ways, such as making a gift for 18 consecutive years, connecting with me often to strengthen our sustainability efforts, and supporting students so they can benefit from conferences and other extracurricular experiences. He epitomizes the ‘value add’ associated with a ϰſ education when alumni are truly engaged on an ongoing basis in the lives of our students.”
McNamara is a managing director in Stifel’s Diversified Industries Investment Banking Group and is responsible for coverage of the building products and environmental services industries. He has more than 15 years of investment banking experience and has completed more than 60 transactions representing more than $10 billion. Prior to joining Stifel, he served as a member of the financial planning and analysis department of Constellation Energy Group.
