Biography
Dr. Irem Demirkan is an Associate Professor of International Business in the Sellinger School of Business and Management at 老澳门开奖网. Before joining Sellinger School of Business and Management, Dr. Demirkan held faculty positions in International Business and Strategic Management at Northeastern University (Boston, MA), Suffolk University (Boston, MA), and James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA). In 2007, Dr. Demirkan received her Ph.D. in International Management Studies and M.A. in Management and Administrative Sciences from Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, TX. She received her B.A. in Economics from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
To date, Dr. Demirkan taught various courses including strategic management, international business, global strategic management, small business management, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills at both graduate and undergraduate levels. She has published articles in prestigious management journals including Management Science, Journal of Management, and Journal of Business Research. Her current research interests include inter-organizational relationships, strategic alliances, innovation, exploration and exploitation frameworks, international business and family businesses.
