Multicultural Awareness Program (MAP)

The Multicultural Awareness Program (MAP) is designed to assist first-year ALANA students in acclimating to campus life at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø. Specific objectives of the program are academic enhancement, intercultural exploration, social adjustment, and community service.

Want to participate in MAP for the 2024-2025 academic year?

MAP Participants

Students who participate in the Multicultural Awareness Program will:

  • A group photo of MAP participants and mentors togetherBecome acquainted with the resources available to them at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø
  • Have a better understanding of classroom expectations
  • Meet members of their class as well as other ALANA students via team building & ropes course 
  • Have the opportunity to explore the Greater Baltimore area (Past excursions include: El Salvador Restaurant, Great Blacks In Wax Museum, National Museum of the American Indian, etc.)
  • Network with faculty and administrators
  • Move in to Fall housing assignment a week early

MAP Navigators

Through shared wisdom and experiences, MAP Navigators guide participants through their first days of college life.

MAP Navigators for the 2024 Pre-Fall have been selected and are excited to engage with the incoming MAP participants.
