Benefit Eligibility

You are considered a benefit eligible employee if you are:

  • a regular, full-time biweekly staff or administrator working 37.5 or 40 hours per week for 9 or more months in a 12 month period
  • a core biweekly staff or administrator working 30 or more hours per week for 9 or more months in a 12 month period
  • a half-time biweekly staff or administrator working 22.5 or more hours per week for an entire 12 month period
  • a faculty member holding a tenured, tenure-track, Teaching, and Clinical contract for a 10 or 12 month period and tenured faculty serving as an administrator with a 12-month contract. Details on faculty contracts and status, refer to the faculty handbook

Eligibility for coverage under the various benefit plans is based upon your employment category. Enrollment in benefits, including health insurance, is not automatic. To view a BAAG (benefits-at-a-glance) click here.

Benefits and Eligibility For Part-Time Faculty, Staff And Administrators

There are a number of benefits that are available to all employees and faculty, regardless of employment category and number of hours worked. These benefits include voluntarily contributing to the 403(b) Retirement Plan, discounts  and special offers . Please contact the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø Benefits & Wellness unit at ext. 1365 for more information on benefits for part-time employees.

Dependent Eligibility

In addition to enrolling yourself, you may also elect coverage for your spouse/LDA and your eligible dependent children. The following coverage levels are available.

  • Employee only
  • Employee and 1 Child
  • Employee and Spouse/LDA
  • Employee and Children
  • Family (employee, spouse/LDA and child(ren)

Dependent children include your natural children, legally adopted children, children for whom you are the legal guardian, stepchildren who are dependent on you for support, and children for whom you are the proposed adoptive parent from the date of placement. All medical plans cover dependent children until age 26, regardless of whether or not they are full-time college students. 

Employees must pay taxes for LDA and LDA child(ren) coverage. For more information about Legally Domiciled Adults (LDAs) click here
