Would you enjoy being an ambassador to all things ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø, Baltimore, and the U.S.? Share what you love about being a ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø Greyhound with our incoming international students and assist in their transition to ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø! The Global Greyhound Program offers opportunities to help incoming international and exchange students acclimate to ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø, Baltimore, and the U.S. Applicants who are selected to become members of this rewarding team will assist the Office of International Student Services (OISS) in providing a warm welcome to our newly arriving international students in both fall and spring semesters, including airport pick-ups, planning orientation activities, leading day-trips in the Baltimore-Washington area, hosting on-campus events, as well as serving as peer mentors. Duties

Under the guidance of the Director of the Office of International Student Services (OISS), Global Greyhounds:

  • Attend a four-day training session prior to the start of the semester
  • Welcome new international students to ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø
  • Greet arriving international students at BWI airport
  • Participate in New International Student Orientation activities, on- and off-campus
  • Assist international students with integration into campus life
  • Co-lead one of three day-trips for international students per semester
  • Help make social connections between international students and other ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø students
  • Attend a four-day training session prior to the start of the semester
  • Participate in weekly OISS GG team meetings (~1 hour) throughout each semester
  • Maintain good academic and disciplinary standings

Requirements for Consideration

  1.  Must be at least a junior at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø 
  2.  Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  3.  Cannot be on academic or disciplinary probation/have no history of serious academic probation
  4.  Must have studied abroad, be an international student, or have other abroad/international experiences
  5.  Must show evidence of leadership skills/have excellent communication and organizational skills
  6.  Cannot be serving as an Evergreen, R.A., OAE Leader, Pre-fall Program Leader, or CCSJ Service Coordinator (due to scheduling conflicts)
