Renters Insurance
Per the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø Community Standards:
The University assumes no liability for bodily injury or personal property damage or loss.
The University is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage to a students' personal property, and encourages all students to carry appropriate personal insurance. Students and parents are encouraged to check with their home-owners insurance policy, if they have one, to see if lost property is covered.
As a ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø housing resident, you are eligible for renters insurance from GradGuard, a service of Next Generation Insurance Group. This plan, designed specifically for college students, costs just $102.76 for the year and includes $5,000 of coverage for theft or damage by a covered event to your personal belongings with a $100 deductible and $25,000 of personal liability coverage.
Renters insurance provides valuable protection if a student’s personal belongings are stolen or damaged by a covered event, including laptop computers, smart phones, bicycles, game consoles, textbooks, clothing, and other items. In most instances, the university assumes no responsibility if your valuables are lost, stolen or damaged.
Renters insurance also protects students financially for unintentional damage to the student’s residence, or bodily injury to others for which the student is legally liable within the residence premises. To learn more about GradGuard Renters Insurance and to enroll, please visit .
ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Íø is not compensated for this program. GradGuard Renters Insurance is a valuable voluntary benefit of campus housing. Coverage is recommended, but not required, and may be canceled at any time.
